Ever since the Oakland Raiders received the pro football
franchise, the Raiders who became the legends and finally
the inductees of the Hall of Fame are Jim Otto, Fred
Biletnikoff, George Blanda, Willie Brown, Gene Upshaw, Art
Shell, Bob Brown, Dave Casper, Ted Hendricks, Howie Long,
Marcus Allen, Mike Haynes, James Lofton, Ronnie Lott, Eric
Dickerson and Al Davis. They all targeted the success and
increased the worth of their credentials.

Perhaps the first inductee was center Jim Otto
(1960-1974). In his 15 years with the Raiders he became
the only All-League center in the AFL. He competed in
more than 300 games including the Super Bowl II. Due to
his constancy towards his job, intellect, concentration
and dedication, Otto enjoyed the status of only center
for the Raiders in his formative 15 years. In 1980, he
became the inductee of Hall of Fame. The next legend to
be inducted was quarterback/kicker George Blanda
(1967-1975). He holds remarkable 26 years of experience
in the NFL. Until 2000, he was NFL’s all-time leading
scorer. Overall he played in 340 games. In 1981, Blanda
became eligible for the Hall of Fame. Cornerback Willie
Brown (1967-1978) in the Raiders uniform competed in
three AFL and six AFC championship playoffs. He was also
a part of the club when they vied for Super Bowl II and
XI. In the prime of his career, he was one of the most
reliable cornerback. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame
in 1984. |

Al
Davis is the Raiders head coach and general manager.
Affectionately by his fans, he is addressed as “Mr. AFL”
because of his noteworthy contribution in making AFL the
family of modern pro football. In 1963, he became the
recipient of American Football League Coach
of the Year honor for leading the Raiders to a 10-4 record.
He is considered to be the most notorious and controversial
franchise owner in the history of NFL. In 1992, he was
inducted in the list of Hall of Fame. From 1983-1989
cornerback Mike Haynes ruled the club. He was traded by the
New England Patriots to the Raiders in 1982. Due to his
great athletic skills, as a Raider, he received an
opportunity to face future Hall of Famers Charlie
Joiner of the San Diego Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks
Steve Largent. In 1997, he got his recognition.
Eric Dickerson joined Raiders after being getting traded by
Indianapolis in 1992. He holds thirteen years of experience
with the Raiders. He became entitled for the Hall of Fame in
1999. Running back Marcus Allen (1982-1992) was the first
round pick of the Raiders in 1982. In the Raiders uniform,
he became the MVP in Super Bowl XVIII. The year 2003 gave
him the recognition for his achievements by inducting him in
the legendary Hall of Fame. Tackle Bob Brown joined Raiders
in 1971. He is the sixteenth Raider to be inducted in the
celebrated Hall of Fame list. His mechanism towards the game
is simply based on the modern professional football.
The coronation of achievers as Hall of Famers is indeed the
best way to pay them their due
obeisance. |
